Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo - 2017 Chiyoda Sakura Festival

Chidorigafuchi is one of the moats of Imperial Palace; its shape resembles a thousand birds soaring, hence explains the name of the moat. In between late march and early April, the “Sakura Festival” will be held along the walkway to celebrate the full bloom of 800 stunning Somei Yoshino and Oshima Cherry trees.

During this period, not only 260 Somei Yoshino and Oshima Cherry trees are illuminated at dusk, but the Chidorigafuchi boat arena is open until late. Visitors can admire the magical night view of the illuminated Sakura from the water.

No need to buy tickets to enter the park. If you'd like to take the boat, yes it costs a bit.
