Umeda is a bustling shopping district located in the north of Osaka. There are large stores and restaurants everywhere.
There are many convenient transport options in the area. The main JR, Hankyu and Hanshin lines connect here, at the large integrated station ‘Osaka Station’. There are plenty of department stores in the area, including Osaka’s new landmark – Grand Front Osaka. There is also the Hep Five shopping mall with a large Ferris wheel from which you are privy to a magnificent view of Osaka city. Umeda is also home to the largest underground shopping mall in Japan. Here you will find a variety of coffee shops, restaurants, gift shops, grocery stores and specialty stores.
In addition to one-stop shopping, the Umeda Sky Building is a place of romance for many lovers. It is located to the north of Osaka Station and is composed of two buildings, the east and the west. The top is connected by a sky courtyard and boasts a unique 360-degree panoramic open observation platform. It is a great spot to enjoy the sunset, and the gorgeous night view of Osaka.
