JR Arashiyama Station 嵯峨嵐山駅
A lot of people visit Arashiyama to enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in fall. Arashiyama is a nationally-designated Historic Site and Place of Scenic Beauty. The district is famous for the monkeys that reside in it as well as a large bamboo forest.

While there are a lot of electric bike rentals in Arashiyama, do not try biking through the bamboo forest - it's not worth it. There are places to park your bike here, but you will have to weave in and out of many people at peak seasons.
A gorgeous spot to walk through. It was a little difficult to find the main entrance to the forest but just follow the main crowds and you'll get there. For some, be aware, there is a mild incline as you walk up the path through the bamboo.
Definitely check out the picturesque neighborhood surrounding the forest. Though touristy, there are some amazing parks and riverfront views.
This is a great little town with an old feel. The bamboo forest is cool but not as big as it looks in pictures, you could walk the whole thing in under a half hour. The coolest part is Togetsu-kyo bridge.
