Baird Beer has been one of the largest names in the still-growing Japanese craft beer scene since starting in the year 2000. Since then, the Numazu-born brewery has created some of the tastiest beers available across the country, and their brews can be found inside many stores stocking Japanese craft beer. The Harajuku Taproom opened in 2009, making it Baird's second physical space in Japan's capital after the Nakameguro Taproom opened its doors the year before.

The spot boasts 15 taps, along with a pair of special hand pumps pouring out some special brews, including the location's signature Harajuku Ale. The intimate space is themed after a Japanese-style bar, and accordingly the food cooked up is the sort of grub you'd encounter in an izakaya, such as yakitori and other small nibbles. Located only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of Harajuku's main shopping drag, the Taproom offers a peaceful place to relax in the early evening.
