Shinjuku

Shinjuku is the most popular and prosperous commercial area in Tokyo. It is a transportation hub with several traffic lines. There is an underground complex. High-end department stores including the Odakyu Department Store, the Keio Department Store and Isetan are located here. The deluxe fruit dessert shop Takano is nearby. You can eat freely as it is a buffet dessert bar. What a great chance to experience Japan’s finest quality fruit!

Toward Shinjuku-rishiguchieki, you can see the Tokyo Metropolitan Government premises, nestled amongst a concrete jungle of skyscrapers and high-end office buildings. There are also plenty of options for souvenirs, all available while you soak in the best views of Tokyo city.

Shinjuku is a great place for tourists. There are big electronic stores, such as BIC Camera, Yodobashi and Yamada, where you can pick up the latest gadgets. These shops are all located on Kabukicho, nicknamed the ‘sleepless street’. This street acts as the backdrop for the popular cartoon ‘Gintama’ and is also known as the story-telling street. There is a large red light district, many cinemas, bars, nightclubs and love hotels. Make sure to take care, as it is a complex and crowded area. Be safe, but have fun!
